These drawings (Figures 1-4) started with quick sketches done with a broad, stubby Lamy nib (a Z50 1.5 mm), fed with Platinum Carbon Black.

Figure 5c. Three-quarter, frontal view of the LAMY Joy’s 1.5 mm Stub nib.

The Lamy Joy (Figures 5a, 5b, and 5c) is a long pen, a traditional desk pen for calligraphy. It’s steel nib is stiff and draws a crisp line.

Platinum Carbon Black (Figures 6a and 6b) is a waterproof ink. You lay down contour, wait a bit for it to dry, then you can put other ink around, go over it with a water brush, even scratch; this ink won’t go away easily. It also does not degrade even when exposed to sunlight for months (and possibly years), so it is lightfast. One of the best for permanent drawings in fountain pen.

Enjoy the day!
